Indonesia’s name shines on the international stage. After receiving a similar award in 2018 and 2022, Bank Indonesia has once again been awarded the Best Central Bank of the Year 2024 for the third time by the 14th Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA), held in the Maldives on September 17, 2024.
This award is given to Bank Indonesia for its contributions that are deemed to meet the key criteria as a pioneer in developing ideas, innovations, or sharia finance policies at both national and international levels.
In addition, Bank Indonesia is recognized for implementing programs, policies, or projects on an international scale or adhering to global standards, as well as developing quality sharia economy and finance (eksyar) products and services that have gained widespread recognition.
Bank Indonesia is considered to have made significant contributions as a catalyst for the development of international eksyar, carried out through strengthening the halal value chain ecosystem, sharia finance, the application of halal lifestyle, and holding leadership positions in international eksyar cooperation forums.
This achievement is a tangible testament to Bank Indonesia’s commitment to promoting the development of eksyar in the homeland.
This makes us even prouder of the development of Indonesia’s eksyar. Of course, this achievement is also the result of the synergy and coordination among all stakeholders who are working together to realize Indonesia’s ambition of becoming the global center for sharia economy.
