Nazhir plays a vital role in Waqf. Nazhir is an individual or legal entity entrusted with the responsibility to manage, maintain, and administer waqf assets professionally, developing them in accordance with their intended purposes.
The function of Nazhir is strategically important in the management of waqf assets. The competence and integrity of Nazhir are crucial in fostering public trust, encouraging individuals to entrust their assets for management.
To enhance the professionalism of waqf management and promote inclusivity in the economy, Bank Indonesia actively organizes Capacity Building and Competency-Based Training as part of the Nazhir Certification series throughout 2024.
This activity, which is linked to the Sharia Economy and Finance Festival (FESyar) 2024, involves representatives of Nazhir from various regions and collaborates with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Indonesian Waqf Agency Professional Certification Institution (LSP BWI). In addition to providing enriched material, at the end of the program, the Nazhir participants will take a competency certification exam.
This initiative is expected to enhance the competencies of Nazhir as the frontline in effective and sharia-compliant waqf management.
